Hotel Devi Kripa
Hotel operations, off paper.
Hotel Devi Kripa runs a property where the day starts at five and never really ends. Three role tiers, four shifts, leave that comes in by phone call. We were asked to take that off paper without making it feel like a piece of office software was put between the staff and the work.

Before we touched a screen.
Attendance, shifts and payroll were on paper. Every payroll cycle started with a reconciliation argument. Late marks were inconsistent across supervisors. Leaves came in by WhatsApp, sometimes by sticky note, and were re-typed into a spreadsheet days later. There was no single source of truth for anything.
Four steps, told plainly.
- 01
Sat with the floor staff for two days, watched a payroll cycle close from start to finish, mapped where the friction actually lived.
- 02
Designed three role views: Admin sees everything, Manager works the shift, Staff sees only what they need to do their job.
- 03
Built attendance capture for the floor and approval flow for the manager, with a paper trail attached to every override.
- 04
Wrote payroll exports in the exact format the accountant already uses, so nothing changed downstream.
What changed, in the end.
Supervisors picked up the dashboard in a single shift. The first month of payroll closed without a single reconciliation call. Late marks now follow one rule across the property, and the audit trail makes "who changed what, when" a question nobody fights about any more.
